where list of variables is a mixture of covariates, factors and pseudo factors.

Purpose:
The FIT command fits a random effects model (with optional end-points for univariate models).

It takes as explanatory variables the list of variables specified as the argument to the command.

For ordered response models only, FIT can be issued without arguments in order to fit a random effects model with just cut-points and no covariates.
