SCALE

Sabre manual

Syntax: SCALE number
or
SCALE keyword=number [ keyword=number [ keyword=number]] where number is a positive real number and keyword is FIRST, SECOND or THIRD.

Purpose:
SCALE number sets the initial value for the scale parameter in the univariate model to number for all subsequent models fitted by the FIT command.

SCALE FIRST=number sets the initial value for the first scale parameter in bivariate or trivariate models.

SCALE SECOND=number sets the initial value for the second scale parameter in bivariate or trivariate models.

SCALE THIRD=number sets the initial value for the third scale parameter in trivariate models.

Careful choice of the initial estimate can reduce the number of iterations needed substantially.

The default initial estimate for the scale parameter(s) is 1.0. The current setting of the SCALE parameter(s) may be obtained by issuing the DISPLAY SETTINGS command.
